My answers:


What are you currently reading? I’m currently reading two books. First, I am reading The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan with my kiddos. We started the Percy Jackson series in January and this is the 4th book in the series. It seems my kids have picked up my love for any type of mythology so this series has really been perfect for us to read. For my personal read I’m reading My Life in Shambles by Karina Halle. I don’t know a lot about this book. I’ve actually barely cracked it open but I made it my goal this year to read every Bookworm Box and Amazon First Reads book I get this year and so this is one of them. I believe this was a freebie e-book that came along with my March Bookworm Box.



What did you recently finish reading? City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I just posted a review of this book but to sum it up, I loved it. I think it was a really nice wrap up to a series and now I feel better about going on to some of her newer books. I’ve been holding off because I knew I needed to finish this series first.



What do you think you’ll read next? I Love on Beach Avenue by Jennifer Probst. This was my Amazon First Reads choice. I don’t know what it is about this year but I usually have a good mix of genres in my first read choices. Although, so far every single book I’ve chosen has been Romance. I think part of it is we have enough heaviness right now, I just want love and fun. Hopefully this one brings me what I need.

My answers:


What are you currently reading? Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon. This is my second time actually reading Dragonfly in Amber. I started reading a couple of years ago and stalled about mid-way. These books are so long and sometimes get overwhelming, and I've heard this happens to quite a few people with this series. My goal is to read 1 of the books a month until I get through book 8. That way whenever book 9 is finally released, I'll be ready!  


What did you recently finish reading? Passion Fish by Alison Oburia.  I started reading this because I had nothing else to read last week and even though I've read it before, I just couldn't finish it this time. My rating when it first came out was 3 marks but this time around I just couldn't stand the writing or the characters. I didn't end up changing my rating on good reads but I would probably lower the rating to 1.5-2 marks this time around. It's crazy how much your taste in books change sometimes.



What do you think you’ll read next? There's no telling how long Dragonfly in Amber will take me, but whenever I do get through it, I plan on reading my choice for February's Kindle First Read: Where the Forest Meets The Stars by Glendy Vanderah. There were two books I really liked when choosing my first read, but this one won out.

My answers:


What are you currently reading? Passion Fish by Alison Oburia. This is actually a reread from years ago. I was in my son's pickup line at school and had no new books loaded on the kindle so I decided to start this one again.  




What did you recently finish reading? Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Funny enough, this was a reread too. I remember stalling on the second book and one of this years goals is to finish this series. So I just started from the beginning. My rating didn't change, I still loved it as much as the first time. I love rereading books because sometimes you can pick up things you didn't notice before.



What do you think you’ll read next? I'm pretty sure I'm going to continue the Outlander series with Dragonfly in Amber. I don't know if I'm going to try and read the series straight through or take a break after each book. All the books are pretty long so depending on how long they take me, will be the deciding factor on how often I read them, I guess.

What are you currently reading? A Shade of Blood (A Shade of Vampire, Book 2) by Bella Forrest. This is actually a re-read. I read the first 3 books in the Shade of Vampire series when they were first released and it has come to my attention that there are now 29(!!) books in the series. I remember really enjoying these books so I figured before I jumped back in, that I would need a refresher.  [From Goodreads] When Sofia Claremont was kidnapped to a sunless island, uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet, she believed she’d forever be a captive of its dark ruler, Derek Novak.

What did you recently finish reading? Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. This was my second CoHo book, and I have to say I'm officially hooked. I have most of her books added to my never-ending TBR list and I don't see an end in sight. Definitely pick this book up if you want a good cry. [From Goodreads] Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies… That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. What do you think you’ll read next? I couldn't decide what I would read next, so I'm listing two. I'm going to start the next in the Shade of Vampire series, A Castle of Sand, that way I can start the remaining unread books within the next couple of weeks or months.  [From Goodreads] What Sofia has with Derek feels like a sandcastle; temporary and something that the waves of life and time will soon ruin... Since the return of Gregor Novak, the island has turned several shades darker. Also, I will be reading Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1) by Gena Showalter. I've seen this series being talked about and I love old stories with new twists so why not try it out? I've purchased the first book and am anxious to start it. Definitely look for a review in the next couple of weeks! [From Goodreads] She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

What are you currently reading? Without You by Kelly Elliott. It's really taking me a long time to get through this short book. According to my kindle, only 297 pages long, yet I've been stuck on it a week. I *really* wanted to like this book but so far its not really reaching me. I still have almost half the book to go so I'm hoping it'll pick up. [From Goodreads] Alex and Will have spent months keeping their relationship hidden from their families. Getting caught prematurely causes them to admit their love for each other to their parents. One decision made by Alex's father changes her entire world, shattering her plans for the future. Alex always thought Will was the very air she breathed, but life has a way of causing doubts for the one thing she thought was absolute…their love. Can Will's promise to Alex be enough for her to hold on to or will she find herself moving down a different path that she never imagined for herself?


What did you recently finish reading? Fairest (An Unfortunate Fairytale #2) by Chanda Hahn.  I really, really enjoyed this book. I'm pretty certain you could pick it up without reading the first and not get horribly lost. It's pretty well written and of course, anything to do with the fae will bring me running. [From Goodreads] Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, Who is the Fairest of them all? In the sequel to UnEnchanted, Mina Grime discovers that all is not fair when it comes to the Fae and their tales, especially when they don’t all play by the rules. Barely surviving the Story’s first fairy tale quest, Mina still has hundreds to go before she can end the curse on her family. But a new player arises to challenge Mina while new rules revamp the game she has just barely begun to understand.






What do you think you’ll read next? The Crown by Kiera Cass. I've been waiting on this book for a year and its a complete bittersweet moment. The Crown wraps up The Selection series so even though I finally get to know the end of the story, it'll be the last. Which of course I'm already planning on going back to the beginning and falling in love all over again. [From Goodreads] When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone. Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. What are you currently reading? I'm currently actively reading two books.

Book 1 is for a group read- Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.  For the group read we are only to read 6 chapters at a time. I did read my 6 chapters yesterday but I found it really hard to put the book down. I know for a fact that there's no way I'm going to make this book stretch out an entire month. The relationship between Louisa and Will is too cute. I've heard people talk about this book being sad. Being in chapter 6, I haven't gotten there yet but I think I'm ready for a big, ugly cry. It's been way too long since my last.


Book 2 is Underneath It All by Kate Canterbary. Sometimes the universe conspires to bring people together. Other times, it throws people down a flight of stairs and leaves them in a bruised and bloodied heap.  I don't entirely have an opinion about this book yet. I wanted a quick, easy read while I was reading Me Before You and I'm not really finding it quick or easy. It's my goal to finish it today because it's not long at all so hopefully it'll get more steamy as I go!

What did you recently finish reading? A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole. One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime. One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe. This story is.. sweet and sad.. I did have quite a few crying moments in this book, but nothing like a big, ugly cry. I'm going to be doing a review on the book, I'm just trying to sort out my feeling on how the it ended. Which, is not a way I would have ended it. But I'm not the author, am I?

What do you think you’ll read next?  I think I'm going to go back to our good ol' Jace and Clary in City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. I read CoFA back when it came out in 2011, and I never bought or read the rest of the Mortal Instruments series. Now that I have recently purchased Lady Midnight in Cassie's newest series (which picks up 5 years after City of Heavenly Fire), I'm going to catch up TMI first. The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last.

What are you currently reading? The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck. This book is actually taking longer than I expected. I thought I would get hooked right away and that just isn't happening.  [From Goodreads] Four brides. One Dress. A tale of faith, redemption, and timeless love.


What did you recently finish reading? Branded (Fall of Angels #1) by Keary Taylor. I have this thing about Angels..I just love reading about them.. This books gives you a hunky love interest, a crazy next door neighbor and some really bad nightmares about being on trial in front of a council of angels. It sucked me in almost from the beginning and I absolutely cannot wait to start book 2.  [From Goodreads] Jessica's had the nightmares for as long as she can remember. Nightmares of being judged for people who have died, of being branded by the angels. Her friends and family think she's a crazy because of it all. Yet she carries the mark of the condemned, seared into the back of her neck, and hides it and herself away from the world.


What do you think you’ll read next? I have a group read to start on so it'll be Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. This book has been talked about in the reading community a lot so I'm glad to finally get to read it. [From Goodreads]Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick. What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.

My answers:

What are you currently reading? Torch Song by Shelley Singer. I had a busy weekend so wasn't able to really crack into this book. Just started yesterday and really liking it so far. No bad-assery going on yet but we'll see how it goes.

What did you recently finish reading? Book 2 of the Paranormals series by JL Bryan, "Johnny Nightmare". The 2nd book was almost as good as the first. It seemed to really creep by a lot slower, though. I couldn't get into it as much as Jenny Pox but I had to stick it out to the end to see what happened. Bryan left it with a cliffhanger so I guess I'll have to get book 3 before I go crazy.

What do you think you’ll read next? I have tons of new books in my kindle queue that I have to get through. So I'm thinking about starting From the Wreckage by Michele G. Miller.

What are you currently reading? I’m reading book 2 of the Paranormals series by JL Bryan, "Johnny Nightmare". Genre is Paranormal Young Adult and I'm really enjoying it. I've read alot of people didn't find JL Bryan's books realistic (duh it's paranormal) but I haven't really found anything I don't like yet.

What did you recently finish reading? Book 1 of the Paranormals series by JL Bryan, "Jenny Pox". Jenny Pox was an awesome start to a great series. Jenny can't touch anyone without spreading a plague. With no mother, an alcoholic father, and no friends, her life is pretty boring. I loved the twists and turns in this book. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

What do you think you’ll read next? Torch Song by Shelley Singer. It's supposedly a kick-ass heroine in a post apocalyptic world. Who wouldn't love that?

My answers:

What are you currently reading? Fever (Chemical Garden Trilogy, bk 2) by Lauren DeStefano. This book continues with Rhine & Gabriel's story and all the trials they have to go through to be together. I really enjoyed Wither (Bk 1) but this one isn't pulling me in as much, which I find quite normal with the 2nd book in a series. I'll continue to read though.

What did you recently finish reading? Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. "Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder."  LOVED this book. Posted review here.

What do you think you’ll read next? Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt. "When Mallory’s boyfriend, Jeremy, cheats on her with an online girlfriend, Mallory decides the best way to de-Jeremy her life is to de-modernize things too"

My answers:

What are you currently reading? I am reading Wake by Amanda Hocking. I loved Amanda's Trylle Trilogy; they were such a fast read and I liked them right away. I figured I would try her Watersong series but I'm having a bit of trouble getting into it. I might have to find some time where there are no distractions before I can really get into this book.

What did you recently finish reading? I recently finished Outside In (Insider #2) by Maria V. Snyder. I loved the second book in the Insider duo. Inside Out took forever for me to get into and actually like the characters but Outside In I could just jump into and love right away. If you love a YA, sci-fi read, pick up these books. 

What do you think you’ll read next? I'm thinking of picking up Ally Condie's Crossed. I absolutely loved Matched but I have yet to pick up the 2nd book.

What are you currently reading? Book 1 of the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr, "Wicked Lovely". Had trouble getting into it, but it's hooked me in now.

What did you recently finish reading? Book 3 of the “Wolves of Mercy Falls” trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater, “Forever“.  LOVED this book. Review will be posted soon.

What do you think you’ll read next? I'm putting aside my YA.. well fiction altogether (Gasp!)  and reading "The Spark" by Chris Downie.

What are you currently reading? I’m reading book 3 of the “Wolves of Mercy Falls” trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater, “Forever“. YA Fiction (of course) ;) I really love Maggie's writing. Love the series!


What did you recently finish reading? Book 1 of the Midnight Series by Cynthia Eden, "Hotter after Midnight". Suprisingly, not YA but definitely fiction. Has the normal demons, vampires and werewolves in it.

What do you think you’ll read next? I'm going to pick back up "Wicked Lovely", book one of the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. I put it aside to read "Forever" .
